R2 has developed a revolutionary approach to process modeling and pattern recognition: IMU (Intelligent Modeling Unit). IMU’s neural network backbone learns from historical data to create unique empirical models for each process and functions independently of the data acquisition source.

IMU has proven its potential to provide reliable condition monitoring and diagnostics in the Power Generation industry. It is used by major power production facilities and is successful in modeling:

• Hydraulic turbines to offer monitoring of turbine/alternator groups, regulation systems, cooling units, and component dynamics.
• Fuel cells to supervise the behavior of a PEM (proton exchange membrane) type fuel cell, detecting dry-outs, and defective sensor problems.
